I love the idea of it, but I've invested way too much money into games built around Windows. I don't think I could drop all that for this new OS.

That's the beauty of it-- you don't HAVE to drop it all. SteamOS is Linux-based, which means you can probably set your computer up to dual boot it and Windows. There's even ways of running Windows software in Linux, such as virtual machines. (And if the streaming thing they talked about works without too much latency, you won't have to virtualize or dual boot, just stream the games from your Windows machine.)

I'll have to know more about it, first. If it has plenty of advantages for gaming and decent compatibility, I might just ditch windows for it. Dual boot would be nice, though
