What is your opinion on instagib (one-hit kill) modes in fast paced FPSs? (Examples would include Unreal Tournament and Quake) - Results (111 votes)

I haven't played the examples given, but I do prefer a system like Halo over something like Call of Duty because it doesn't just become a game of who sneaks up on the other person first.

Its the thing I hated the most. Downgrading the game to some stupidity like this, why even play? I really hate it, and I hate the fact people liked it enough to, even back then, take a good portion of the people into that crap instead of playing something fun and varied.

I consider it seeing through the other guy's eyes. I rock railgun exclusively in Quake 3, for my opponents every mode is an insta-gib mode
