Literally all she'll be doing with it is taking pictures, facebook, and dropping it. She's a bit on the clumsy side, and has broken 2 computers thus far.

Seeing my new tablet, she's become infatuated with the idea and bought a 8in tablet case before telling me to find one that'll fit it.

having a ton of difficulty meanwhile, finding a tablet that isn't notorious from breaking when simply dropped on the floor, or is $300+

Could really use some cheap suggestions.

Tablets are all going to break if you drop them on the floor, really. Just grab the cheapest one you can if she's doing light activities with it. If it breaks, less money lost.

Kindle Fire, Prime and a good case should cost about $250.

Walmart has a $99 (on sale) 8" Android tablet with very respectable specs for the price called Nextbook. I had an earlier version and it seemed very sturdily built. It also does have access to Google Play and has a 1.5 ghz dual core.

They also have this very cheap deal on a 9" tablet with a slower dual core for only $89 that actually comes with it's own case and keyboard.

The first tablet you should be able to find in store.
