The installer for GFWL that comes with some games is incompatible with Windows 8. You have to download a newer version from the website, without anything telling you to.

The Walking Dead and some other games have 360 controller incompatibility on 8.

Bethesda games are giving me and some other issues where for some reason it keeps going to windowed when set to fullscreen.

I got around 5 to 10 fps mor in far cry 3. I was happy.

A lot of older games don't work well in Win8, even in compatibility mode. At least they didn't when I tried them. That's why I dual boot.

Windows 8 + StartIsBack (or any other program that gets rid of the Metro and brings back the start menu) = win

That's not win. The metro interface is irrefutably better than the start menu of old. Honestly don't see how people can try and argue this point.
