Practically nothing advanced, be it an ActiveX control in IE, a lot of JavaScript dependent things, etc. works in 64-bit browsers.

Read: We don't want to update our compilers or our programs, because that costs some jerk in India #n rupees.

In which I constantly imagine the worlds browser plugins are being coded and compiled on 32bit P4s.

Read: Why bother with building executables that break backwards compatibility and offer almost zero practical benefit. It's a web browser, not photoshop. You really, really don't need the extra addressable memory space per process.
If they asked how I died tell them: Still angry.

Probably incompatible with the plugin, catering to 64-bit browsers is a rather tiny portion of the market atm and literally every windows machine has at least one 32-bit browser installed somewhere

I'm not disagreeing with you... I'm just saying that's the way it is. For whatever reason they don't want to compile and release two different exe's, one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit.

It's even worse for plugins, as I don't think you can install Flash on 64-bit Internet Explorer, or you didn't use to be able to, I dont' know about Firefox.

When I was administering a SharePoint 2010 farm early this year, one of the users had put in a suppoprt ticket about not being able to view his documents in the browser. After 10 minutes of troubleshooting, I asked if he was using IE 64 bit, and he said he was because he had a 64-bit OS. So I had him try the 32-bit version and it worked fine.

The reason they don't feel the need to support 64-bit is probably because browsers don't use 4+ GB of RAM.

Yes because it's so hard to use a 32-bit browser for battlelog.

Even if they didn't, AFAIK, IE is the only major browser that ships with a 64 bit variant by default that I'm aware of. You literally have to go out of your way to install one.
