And I must say, It's very enjoyable. A coworker of mine uses a Macbook Pro as his dev machine, and I have always been interested in it so I took a chance and put in an order for one a couple weeks ago and yesterday I finally got it. (The time I used a Mac was over a decade ago, on my Aunt's machine)

It's the same model and hardware config as this guy -> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834100276

Just to be clear, I would never spend this much on a laptop but at the same time, I can see how many people actually do. The screen is incredible and running Windows 7 via VM is actually faster than running it natively on my previous Dell machine. It's so enjoyable I am still messing with it in my free time.

Learning the Mac OS is going to be a challenge but in the end it will be worth it since it appears to more developer friendly due to it's Linux/Unix-esque package manager interface, especially after I configure Homebrew.

On top of that, I am currently working as .Net dev so using a Mac is almost ironic.

Am I a hipster? Have any of you dived into Mac headfirst?

Yes indeed. Welcome new apple head.

I have both an imac and a PC.

My pc is for gaming only. Thats what its best for.

I use my mac for music creation/graphic design/surfing.

Love both for what they do.

But I went a bit apple cray cray when I first got the mac. I swear to god I was trying to convert everyone. It is a bit culty.
Peace and love!

You are a troll, never heard a mac fan describe it as culty before, they must have stopped your brainwashing procedure half way through.
