I know of the ME3 ending being a complete joke that took almost nothing you did into consideration.

I know of Aliens: Colonial Marines being completely different gameplay than what was shown.

I know PS3 Skyrim was nearly unplayable for some time and still has game breaking bugs in it.

I remember "Blast Processing" from Sega which was complete bs because it did nothing.

What are some other examples?

It doesn't have to be recent. It could be from any point in gaming history. Recent is a plus though.

The War Z comes to mind.

There were tons of blatant lies on their Steam store page.

It didn't do NOTHING. The Genesis did actually have a higher clocked processor, which counts for a lot. "Blast Processing" is just a silly marketing phrase referring to this - gimmicky to be sure, but not deceptive.

And I don't see how ME3's disappointing ending or Skyrim's bugs are deceptive advertising either. Did BioWare expressly state that ME3's ending would take into account your choices throughout the trilogy? Did Bethesda claim that the PS3 version of Skyrim would be playable? (yes, I know that *should* be implicit by merit of a port existing, but the fact that Skyrim PS3 exists proves that it isn't).

Actually at least one Bioware interview did explicitly state that the ending wouldn't just be a set of choices in a vaccuum.

Call of Duty 2 had an advert banned because it showed a clip with much better graphics compared to the actual game...
Not changing sig till we get a sequel to Freedom Fighters.

I'd have to see the quote in context before accepting your interpretation of it, and even then I would point out that an interview is not the same thing as advertising.

Wasn't the initial trailer for killzone 2 a cutscene that they claimed to be in engine footage? I remember that happening with one of the killzone games.

Yeah, and I’d say much more so, because we have the ability to build the endings out in a way that we don’t have to worry about eventually tying them back together somewhere. This story arc is coming to an end with this game. That means the endings can be a lot more different. At this point we’re taking into account so many decisions that you’ve made as a player and reflecting a lot of that stuff. It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C.
