I would like to get a box with XBMC on it for my living room. I want it to be quiet, easily handle 1080p streams from my Plex media server in a different room, play a bunch of older console emulators, and a handful of lower end PC games from my Steam account. I want to get a remote too. Is it better to buy it pre-built or build it yourself? How much am I looking at for something like this? I'm also planning on upgrading my PC build in sig soon with high end parts. This will be the primary source for PC gaming, not the box.

If you're planning on upgrading, use your old parts and fill in the blanks
