I'm looking around the 800 price mark, and I'm in Canada.

The lenovo y410p looks really solid for the price :http://shop.lenovo.com/ca/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/

But the screen res is a bit low, the HDD is slow, but high end processor and good graphics card for that price, and the ultrabay option to add more stuff easily.

This MSI http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX48233

More or less same price, but better HDD despite the lower size, weaker processor but that's mostly irrelevant, it's a 15.6 in, which I'd prefer. Slightly less good video card

Same price, this ASUS thing seems pretty solid too : http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX48474

3rd gen processor, hybrid drive, the 740m liek the MSI one.

I don't know which company has the best reputation nowadays too. I'm still on my 5 years old ASUS, so I trust them, but the one I'm posting got average reviews compared to the other two. Any other suggestions around that pricepoint?

There's your problem.

Unfortunately, there is no cure.

Well, yeah. I don't care if I can't max out all new games, but I do want gaming capabilities.

The y410p has the most powerful graphics card, the most powerful CPU, and the highest resolution screen (if you choose that option), so...

I think they're all good. Go with whatever you feel has the parts/specs that are important to you. I would personally probably go with the y410p.
Oh, I don't want to walk that far. Anything that takes more than 12 steps isn't worth doing! Eh? 12? Get it? Steps! Hehehe.- Homer J. Simpson
