I know its minimum specs list 6GB memory, but just wondering if it can actually use more than 2GB of ram?

Yes. There is a hack for the game that bypasses that ludicrous requirement

It uses 5GB Ram on Extinction mode, since you have like 50 aliens on screen.

I had the resource manager open on my 2nd display the whole time I played the campaign, and cod was using only 1.9 GB, the rest of the stuff running in my PC was using 1.8, so in total I never used more than 4 GB.

yes, in extinction mode, codghost.exe was hitting 5.4gb
