I am considerably close to pulling the trigger on something like this. Or I may step it down to a normal 780SC...

My bedroom PC is showing it's age and needs to be replaced (FX-6100/560SC) I want something that will completely max or come close to maxing every game for the next few years @ 1080p or I may get a 1440p monitor soon.

Post your "I'm probably going to buy this" rig and or tell me how stupid mine is...

No i7? Seems like a waste on a build that expensive.

How much performance increase would I see with an i7 over the 4670k overclocked? I had considered a 4770k, but is the upgrade worth it at all for gaming?

Right now it'd be very game specific. Give the new consoles a year or two though, and I think the i7 advantage will become more pronounced.

Kinda want to up the RAM to 16GB, but I also want to keep it under $1700 before taxes and whatnot. It also makes me sad that there aren't any Corsair cases with red fans, because then everything would match.

I'm not going to build another PC for at least another 18 months as I only built my current one last year.

But I often mess around with it and update it as new parts come out. Looking to spend around 2500 when I do.
