It's basically a WoW version of TES. Plus the subscription fee truly killed it for me. I definitely wont be picking this one up... I'd rather go back to Neverwinter.

My question is why. Why? Are mmorpgs that popular that Bethesda simply had to make one?
The purpose of my life is to play games. Its the reason I even work.

do the math - they even get 2 million not 7 million WoW currently has only 2 million at $15 a month for a solid 6 months = more profit then they made with skyrim in a shorter time to boot

Well, if you can make a successful one, they provide a long term steady income stream. That's probably the bigwigs at Bethesda's thinking.

In the ideal world. In reality didn't that star wars mmorpg flop hard?

Part of that also had to do with them spending WAAAY too much money on it. Unless you're Call of Duty or GTA, you can't get away with spending over $100 million on your games.

Did they ever improve the animations on Neverwinter? Made the game unplayable.

On topic, making a p2p MMO is pretty much suicide, your game will be f2p within a year, the only game I see it working for is FF due to how rabid the fanboys are.

Yes and no. It certainly didn't get as massive as they wanted but it's projected to make it's money back and eventually turn a profit.
