Quote:They already recommended a 4670k with a z77 mobo. Its your best bet for emulation since its easy to overclock.

That's a bit too complex to cover here. There are whole forums dedicated to overclocking. Try www.overclock.net.

Just one, for your CPU. The CPU will come with one, but it's not adequate for overclocking. You can spend ~$30 on an aftermarket cooler and use that instead of the one that ships with the CPU. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is a popular option.

If i buy this overclock cpu how high can it get? Will it beat any new cpu that will get release that would guarantee that its at least future proof?

Also hows the power consumption with lower spec overcloking compared to higher specs processor without

As high as you want it to. With that cooler, though, I'd say you could viably get up to around 4.5 GHz.

Newer -K processors would likely beat current -K processors because they can be overclocked too.
But my last gen 3570K is better than a current gen 4570 non-K by virtue of overclocking.

PSUs aren't that expensive.

Indeed, guilty as charged. Don't get a Z77 board, you need Z87 with a Haswell CPU.
