I already played and beat the main story of Fallout 3 with the GOTY Edition I had for the 360. I got the GOTY Edition on Steam so I could play the PC version with mods and improved performance from the 360 version. Based on what I've seen of some let's players playing the PC version the game performs much better, loads up areas much faster, and looks much better with mods along with having additional weapons to use via some mods.

Any mods are welcome as long as they're good and hopefully functional. Cosmetic mods, weapon mods, content mods, graphic mods, NPC/Quest mods, etc. I also remember seeing a let's player playing the game using a voice mod, where he modded his own voice to be the main character's voice for all the voice actions like grunts and stuff. I'd be interested in using a mod like that too if anyone knew how I could get it or use it.

I know that I need to download a patch to make sure the game works correctly on my Windows 7 computer and to make sure the game doesn't crash on me, so if there are any other patches or mods to make the game work correctly or perform better I'd appreciate those too.

I also have the Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition for PC, after playing that game extensively on the 360 as well. I plan on playing through that with mods and stuff after Fallout 3. Personally I like New Vegas much more but Fallout 3 was still fun too so I wanted to see what it was like with mods.

I'm also using a wired 360 controller to play the games, in case that effects anything. I prefer a controller with these kinds of games.

Any help is much appreciated. :) I might eventually make a topic on the New Vegas board and here on the PC board when I get around to playing New Vegas again somewhere down the line. I may get around to playing the Elder Scrolls games on PC eventually too but not for a long while since I've got other stuff on my plate, can only play so many games at once.

Well, the best Fallout 3 mod is A Tale of Two Wastelands, but you need New Vegas for that, so that's a bust.

There's one that adds iron sights, one that adds weapon customization. Those are good starting points. Really, anything that adds features present in New Vegas.
Once we perfect building Mechs, I expect there to be a factory in Mexico pumping out a brand call Mechsican. I wanna buy me a Mechsican.

Since you have both, start with a Tale of Two Wastelands and build up from there. Gopher (on YouTube) has fantastic series covering modding for both games, and his 'essential' list is basically identical to mine (aside from the fact that he doesn't play TTW, which is a must for me)

While I didn't play much of 3 on console and didn't play New Vegas at all, the only thing I needed for New Vegas was Mikoto's Beauty mod. It adds 170-ish new hairstyles for women and 130 for men and unlocks the skin tone slider. It also adds a ton of high detail eyes for both genders, it gives you more noticeably different shades of blue than the default game has total colors which is saying something because I couldn't tell any of the default colors apart with max zoom at 1080p.

Without that mod I was unable to make a character I was happy with for either gender, with it I didn't have any problems, not sure if there's a fallout 3 version but it seemed like the character creators were identical in both games so I doubt there wouldn't be.

The other one I use is Essential Visual Enhancements, I think the name is pretty self explanatory.

Another one that was recommended to me was the Weapon Mod Menu, it improves the default weapon modding system though I wouldn't call it a must-have.
Every time I try to go where I really wanna be it's already where I am, 'cuz I'm already there
