I'm 30 days out from building the new rig. What were softwares of 2013 that were must have's for you? Free or Paid.

Security, System Optimizer, pc monitoring, Utilities, add-on's, ect

My list so far is just:
CCleaner, VLC, iTunes, Malware Bites, and thats it so far. Norton improved ratings a ton in 2013 but people still hate it. Has anyone actually paid the $600 for Sony Vegas Pro 12? I was thinking baout getting that. what does everyone use on thier pc?

Windows 8.1 is good, but not a big enough improvement over 7 to really be worth it.

Get 8.t since the newest directX only supports 8.1 now and moving forward, and honestly it's not bad at all, just get used to right clicking on the start menu icon

8.2 is going to totally rework the start menu to be like old start menus so really no reason NOT to get 8.x
