TFTD is ridiculously difficult compared to UFO defense and is kind of targeted towards vets who needed more of a challenge. Apoc introduced a lot of features, many of which aged very poorly.

I've never played UFO Defense.

I've only played TFTD, which was my first X-COM experience

And then I played Apocalypse which was alright.
