Why do console gamers say there's no difference between 720p and 1080p?

Neither do you by the looks of it.

Elaborate.

You have to understand my way of thinking here. Watch this old but knowledgeable video about this guy about 1080I VS 1080P. Maybe I am wrong and you are right... I don't know but this is where I got my thinking from about saying 1080i is 540P.

Is the vid wrong?

I didn't watch the video but if it's saying 1080i = 540p it is wrong. The p stands for progressive scan and that's not what 1080i is.

Not to mention that is misleading about the pixel count, as shorthand resolutions generally refer to a 16:9 aspect ratio. 540p in 16:9 would be 960x540, but this would be 1920x540. Which is still more pixels than 720p.

if that was even a question, then explain how 1080i looks immensely better than 540p, or quite different from 720p

When i watch satelite, my TV says 480i.

So stop complaining, mine is way worse.

its because they sit too far away from their tv to notice the difference.

I can tell a difference even if I sit far away.

Give me a link to a post where an acceptable amount of console gamers state there is no difference. Like most topics here, I just assume this is reassurance once again.

I didn't think so. Well done for continuing to be the scum of the gaming community, PC users.
