I personally would not. Running on an OS only limited to Steam games and being too overpriced even for the lowest specs, i don't see how it's really any better than a regular gaming PC

I'm not getting one but I have a couple of friends who are interested in it.
Gamefaqs game rating system : 10 = Best Game Ever. 8-9. Crushing dissapointment. Below 8 :Total Garbage. This is getting ridiculous. people agreeing so far 111

I voted for NO, since I don't see a reason to buy one over a gaming PC.

But I didn't vote for NEVER, since I never say never. Who knows, one day a model may interest me.

No. But if the streaming turns out to work good, then I may pick up one of the cheaper ones just for the convenience of living room gaming without having to move my pc around.

with what's shown so far it basically goes:
selfbuilt > steambox > regular prebuilt

i bet at some point somebody will introduce a system like ecollegepc where people choose the parts and have it assembled for them based on available form factors.

also, people should stop assuming that steamOS is the only OS available for it.
PC hardware doesn't need to match console hardware in price when PC gamers save literal thousands from the software they buy.

No, especially since there is no such thing as a Steam Box.

Yes, we know. But you only need ONE brain cell to know this topic is referring to the Steam Machine.

Seems like you are out of luck, huh??

The Steam Box is for console gamers who want to get into PC gaming, but still prefer sitting on the couch with their TV than at a desk with mouse and keyboard. Different strokes for different folks.
