Exactly this same version http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00784HHUM/ref=pdp_new_dp_review

I've tried compatibility mode but when I click install the game KOTOR I won't install, it just keeps loading and loading and nothing happens, when I click again it says not responding and freezes. Can anyone help me?

Should I post this here or in Tech Support?

That depends what happens when you try to install. You can try rebooting into safe mode and installing the game from there. I've managed to install a few problematic games on Windows 7 that way. If that doesn't work, you can look into running the game from a wrapper such as Wine (from Linux) or running the game from a virtual machine.

Not sure. It might be easier to just buy new copies off of steam or GOG. Windows 7 and 8 both have a hard time with some older disc based installers. GOG and steam versions have a few minor fixes applied already and should would flawlessly for the most part with windows vista thru 8.1.

Find the latest unofficial patch. That should be enough.

Both game installed on safe mode. Tested KOTOR I and is running well, same with 2. However both are running on a small square screen. It doesn't bother me as much as not being able to play them tho! Thanks.

Get the widescreen resolution fixes. They're a must for KotOR 1 and 2.

And consider using the restored content mod for KotOR 2.

Could care less = you care at least somewhat. Couldn't care less = you don't care at all.

Just to clarify, you should only need to run safe mode long enough to install the games. After the games are installed, you should be able to run the game from Windows without safe mode. Install any mods/patches/unofficial patches and the widescreen mods as suggested above and you should be good to go.

I was running the games as an administrator but not in compatibility mode. Now I keep reading the games have a lot of crashing problems but so far so good for me. Should I run the games in compatibility mode XP Service pack 3 just in case?
