hey guys let's make graphics comparisons with jpg and not png

Even png is weak compared to bmp.

png is lossless.

I played the game in 1080p 60fps stereoscopic 3D about a year ago. It wasn't a great game then, it isn't going to magically change for current gen consoles.

Speaking of 3D I know a lot of people find it a useless gimmick and all but are the console versions going to support it? I don't think so but I could be wrong.
SONY said that 3D will be a much lesser priority than it was on the PS4. Shame cause 3D gaming is the future. The only people who hate 3D are the ones who have only seen it in the movies and don't realize how much better it works in games.

Thankfully I can play just about any game in 3D on my PC because of TriDef, so I don't have to worry too much about what Microsoft and SONY are doing.

What about the people that actually can't see 3D produced by games/movies. I know my brother cannot for the life of him see the depth gained while a game is playing in 3D, and it actually hurts his eyes.
Those people don't count because they have no depth perception, rendering them unable to see 3D even IRL.

What lol? So they don't count? You understand my brother isn't in the minority here. A lot of people have trouble with 3D.
I highly doubt that your average person has no depth perception. He is in fact, in a very small minority.

Considering 1 in 10 people can't see 3D properly I don't really think that's a small minority.

just from the still's the PC ver. definitely looks more detailed and overall better to me.

That's not even its final form. Whoever took the PC version screenshots clearly didn't turn on super-sample anti-aliasing and is not using SweetFX for enhanced color. The PC version still wins even without super-sampling and SweetFX on. Turn those two things on and it will really blow away the PeasantStation 4 edition.

Also, .jpgs should not be used for comparisons as it's a lossy format.

I think the PC version looks more clear, but the lighting is a tad better on the Definitive edition in my opinion.

I think it's pretty even, although I like Lara's look better in the regular version.

Props to the PS4 though for basically matching the PC's graphical quality along with respectable framerates and resolution!! That really impresses me and gives me hope that the next gen of consoles won't be as bad as it was appearing. Give me stable 1080p@60fps with at least NEAR PC quality graphics and that's what I was expecting.

the first gif easily shows how ugly she is on ps4.

I understand they're trying to appeal to nostalgiadudes (would use proper term but I find it offensive and it's a moddable offence, so dudes will have to do), but under no circumstance is the PS4 head model better in any way. It looks completely out of place in the realistic backdrop, much like if TF2's Heavy was seen dancing in the streets of City 17 of Half Life 2 (no, Gmod doesn't count; if anything it reinforces this point). Also, even by nostalgia standards they could've done so much better (like, oh I dunno, using the original model in its entirety so that it doesn't look like a realistic female with a polygonal doll's head?). The fact that the graphics on PC look significantly better outside of the head model is just more reason PC is superior, like Stark tech.
