I believe the 760 should run it well on high at 1080p. Might have to turn down AA a bit. I'm really hoping my tax refund comes in the next week or 2. I'm going to get a 2gb GTX-770 for 350$ you could maybe look into that. I don't know a whole lot about AMD cards but I believe their prices are high right now due to litecoin mining, which really leaves you with the 760-770.

TC, I just recently started PC gaming as well (yet in still needing to upgrade my graphics card to get full enjoyment) and I can tell you, it's a beautiful thing. So many games, so many mods, so many capabilities, so awesome. I've already got 40+ hours spent gaming in the past 2 weeks that I've began.

With a 760 or 770 for 1080p? In that case you'll probably be fine with 2GB.
Currently playing:
Crusader Kings 2 (PC), The Banner Saga (PC), Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (3DS)

Graphics card? $250-$400 max? Ideas?

Just go one level up from what you have now, a GTX 770. Also your PSU is a lot more then you need, unless your planning to run dual video cards one day, you could easily drop down to a quality 600watt and save some money, maybe put it toward the better video card.

You will be fine with a 2gb at 1080p unless you got nutts on skyrim with mods. Like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Kba2AfNRXM&list=WLF542A60F3A6C7324
