my friend got a 760 so he sent me over the mail the 480 and 580 along with an AMD mother board and 6000s series cpu, but i already have i5 so i dont need the motherboard or cpu.

i have right now a GT630, but just how much better are they? i see them going on pc the 580 going for low $400s to high $500 and the 480 going for low $400s to high $600s.

what im trying to say is, is that a price because they are in demand and no longer in print or because they are good cards?

edit: forgot to ask the main thing, which of the 2 is better and should i put into my pc?

580 is the better of the two and better than what you're using.

GT 630 to 480/580 would be a huge jump. The performance is around a gtx 660 - gtx 660 ti. They tend to run about $150 -$200 used. You should put in the gtx 580. Although you can sell them and buy yourself a gtx 770 which is better and newer.

GT 630 is like a 2012 Fiat Punto.
GTX 580 is like a 2010 Lamborguini Gallardo.

Keep the 580, its a cracking card. Maybe a little limited in VRam going forward compared to a Radeon 7950 or GTX760 but its still a monster.

holy cow that is amazing, what in the world have i been doing this whole time? unfortunetly i can't sell both to get a 770. i have a second desktop with no card so i was gonna put the weaker of the 2 cards into that with the stronger one in my pc.

i just got batman origins, AC4 and splinter cell free with the codes it came with. how well will they run?

I still run a GTX 580 in my gaming rig and its great. I can max most anything,

Good card and I don't see a reason to upgrade for quite awhile.

AC4 and Splinter Cell probably maxed, ultra for sure.

Cant say for sure about the batman origins because that game was made by a different studio from the other batman versions, soo it can be even a worse port.

A 630 isnt really a gaming card. The 580 should blow you away.
