I was an avid console gamer before with a PS2 and Gamecube but after the 360 etc came out I decided to build my own desktop instead. I ignored consoles for the most part but instead I did buy a 3DS and Playstation Vita. I'm surprised by the amount of quality titles on them and I find it weird I don't want anything to do with home consoles but willingly went with handhelds, and they certainly fill in gaps that I can't find for the PC. The only weird thing is how I pay more for handheld games than what I find for the PC

If you travel a lot, they are cool.

If you stay home a lot, they will collect dust.

I've got a 3DS XL with a bunch of games that I don't play nearly as much as I probably should. I have no complaints.

I loved my PSP while I had it, same for my DS (and GBA). I really want a PSVita, especially with all the deals I can get with my PS+.

Anyone here know much on the quality of the Nvidia Shield?

I think they complement well if your PC is your main gaming device, since the libraries don't have much overlap.

I have a 3DS and a Vita. I like them. Wish the Vita has a better library.

It just can't touch Fire Emblem/ProfessorLayton/AceAttorney/Zelda/BravelyDefault

Worth mentioning I have all the older handhelds as well.

Good stuff, satisfy your mobile gaming needs when you are away from home. They have unique games you can't find anywhere else too (save for emulators).

I've had every Nintendo handheld since the GBC. I love them. I own a PSP as well and plan on buying a Vita at some point.

I have a Vita. it's a nice piece of hardware. good to have when I don't feel like sitting at my desk gaming and my daughter and wife are using the TV. I wish Dead Nation would hurry and come out on the Vita. Would be the perfect game for me on VIta.
