I just use a spritz of unicorn tears... as it's more effective than what passes for common sense these days, and slightly less mythical.

Avast free and Malwarebytes Pro.

Finally settled on Avast after trying several others. Very light on resources and great protection.

MalwareBytes Pro is there for a little extra real time protection to catch anything Avast might miss. $24.95 for a lifetime license isn't bad at all.
