Got a new mobo (with my PSU being quite fresh) and now I have noticed that the connectors are named differently...

Is there any chance these two will work? I haven't tried plugging it in, since I'm still working with my old mobo.

The PSU I have is Corsair GS600 and the mobo is Gigabyte GA-B85M-HD3.

Technically the EPS12V is supposed to be 8 pins if I'm not mistaken, not detachable 4+4. PSU manufacturers just typically provide it as a 4+4 connector because some motherboards only have a single 4-pin connector that would prove problematic when you only have a straight 8-pin connector.
Since you have a 4+4 connector, you'll be fine.

I mean, both are 8 pins in total, however one is EPS 12v (PSU) while the mobo has 8 pins ATX 12v.

Judging by the pictures, they might not fit each other, one of the EPS four-pin block is all "house shaped" connectors (square with two corners cut), while the ATX has only two of them in both 4 pin pairs...So do I need an adapter?

And please, tell me if I'm not clear, english isn't my main language.

Looks to me like it'll fit.

Yes, in all likely hood, it will work.
4+4 and 2x4 should be the same cable, just said a little differently.

Since they will fit and both standards are 12V, I can safely assume nothing will go wrong with them?

Power supply connectors will either fit and work, or they won't fit and then nothing can go wrong.
