I spent like 15 hours playing the game out of the 17 hours that I have free time ever since buying the game a couple days ago. I started 7 games then quit each time because I was either getting pwned or wasn't satisfied with how I started and even then I still found it super fun but now I've stuck with my latest playthrough for 8 hours and I might start over again to focus on starting out as a merchant making an assload of money to begin the game. I feel like I barely even scratched the surface and with the amount of stuff to do in the game I can see how some people play the game for thousands of hours in single player. I havent even touched a single mod yet and I won't play any mods until I finish my first game so probably in a thousand hours. So thank you Buddha for this masterful creation.

And what makes you think Buddha makes games? He's from a time where games still didn't exist.

Oh, you're that guy. Yeah, told you it rules.

I don't remember there being an ironman mode...? Not sure it would be all that great, since you generally survey the battles/shoot arrows from afar for tactical reasons anyway.

Speaking of that though, you should definitely get the Diplomacy mod. Even for a first playthrough, it's great. Gives you convenient options for managing your armies/contacts (without changing the base game,) lets you continue to watch a battle after you get knocked out, etc...

Ironman mode is there. It's when you're asked how you would like to save during character creation.

Oh yeah, I remember now. I was playing with that the whole time, and forgot there was a choice at the beginning. You can't actually die, but you can get captured and lose your troops. Of course, once you have a couple of garrisons this shouldn't be too crippling.
