How long would it last before a equal to or superior card is brought out at a reasonable price?

I don't want to spend $3000 only to have Jimmy Struthers down the street have an equal or better card for $390 two years from now.
Should have named it the Xbox 720p, because when you see the pixels you turn 720 degrees and burn to death as you walk away.

Probably by next year or two. When the titan came out, nothing could compare, until the 780ti came out a year later.

It's an enthusiast card and people should really do more research before picking up a card like this. You could get 2 780ti cards for half the price and have about the same, if not better performance. The Titan Z has a lot of features that don't make it purely a gaming card, like double-precision floating point accuracy

Well no single card matches the gtx 690 yet. An overclocked GTX 780 Ti is close though. Yet The gtx 590 came pretty close to being de-throned by the gtx 680.

Looks don't matter, it's not like you're going to be staring into your case when gaming.

New is not inherently better.

You know they are pushing it when the card requires liquid cooling.
