High purity (90% or greater) isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) on a lint free cloth works very well.

Coffee filters are good lint free cloths.
If you don't have isotropic alcohol you can just thoroughly rub the paste off and that is usually good enough.

i use 91% iso and coffee filters.

Don't know about the cleaner but I have used coffee filter paper, although you might need a few of them.

Alochol and paper to remove most of it, and then Q-tips to clean the rest.
