I've never played Final Fantasy 7. Is the version on Steam the definitive one?

John dies at the end.
Surely there's no problem with them putting me in Brawl, right?

Only played FF7 last summer and I liked the silly lego characters they had a certain charm.

Right? That and the game is actually very colorful and detailed with the pre-rendered backgrounds and environments. I don't get the people that go insta derp when they see the graphics. It's a 15 year old game that came out on the PSOne originally. Of course it's not going to look amazing. Having said that I find the PSOne era of polygons to be intriguing because they didn't really seem to care that the game didn't look realistic so they just rolled with it and made amazing games with great stories and gameplay.

Almost all of my favorite games are from the PSOne and I spent the better half of my 5th grade year up to my Junior years in High School playing on that system.

Guys, it literally says in the topic title that he's never played the game. New people play old games all the time.

I like how people are complaining about spoilers from a game that's been out for +15 years. At this point, you have no one but yourself to blame for not playing it. Seriously, stop complaining.

To answer OP's question, there's not really a definitive version. The Steam version has achievements, most of which are story based and a few other features that you likely won't need to take advantage of.

Have fun, it's a great game.
