I've been thinking about getting a mechanical keyboard recently since my standard old dell keyboard is finally starting to wear down, but I can't decide between those two switches.

I hear Red is best for gaming, and Brown is good for both gaming and typing. I do a lot of both so Brown's seem like the way to go, but I'm still rather conflicted. I guess I'm just wondering if Reds are actually hard to type on, a lot of people say they accidentally press keys often and that just seems odd to me.

The Corsair K70 is the one I plan to get btw.

i would say its all preference. go to best buy or anywhere else with floor models and try them for yourself.

EDIT: I had keyboards with browns and reds. i like the reds better for what thats worth.

Best Buy's actually have that? I guess the one near me is just terrible and doesn't do that ;_;

I guess I should try microcenter.

Just go with whatever feels best to you because honestly I think the whole "reds and browns" are good for gaming thing is BS. I use Blues with my Blackwidow and I don't have any problems in games. Granted I don't really play RTS or MOBA games so I don't know if there would be problems there. Personally I really don't like the Red or Blacks because the linear switches feel way too similar to rubber domes.

Also if you get the J70 make sure you get the ones with the red LEDs. The blue LED version has major issues with the LEDs burning out for no reason after 2-3 months.

I kinda ruled out Blue's since I don't care much for the clickyness of it. And I will be getting the Red backlit version of the k70

Razers green switches. Just like blues but has a higher activation point.
