the R9 280X is comparable to the 770 while the R9 280 is comparable to the 760.

280X is actually a rebranded 7970, the 280 is a 7950 IIRC.

Wow....

The 280x is an overclocked 7970. The 280 is an overclocked 7950. The 280(x)s are simply higher binned 7900 series re-brands.

The 280x is worth every penny. Its a beast of a card. In raw performance its within about 5% of a 700, but it offers a little better performance at higher resolutions.
