ok that's not actually how processor's work. In general with the same chip architecture yes more hertz the better but you can't say a 2.5 giga hertz processor from amd is better than a 2.4 giga hertz from intel. It's all how they where manufactured. And Celeron processors where made for cheapo business laptops. It does word processing and basic internet.

Also the 250 bucks in my opinion is too much to pay for a Celeron driven laptop. I just saw a deal this morning in my email from micro center for the same laptop you are buying for like 200 bucks.
