I just wasted 8 hours of my life I will never get back on Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Holy christ that game's combat is terrible, and the game is terrible. I would have told you back in '04 it was bad. No amount of patches can fix mediocrity.

Aw man, really? A lot of people/users have recommended that I play that because of how much I loved Deus Ex:HR. They said it has similar gameplay mechanics.

Although, the game did look kind of crappy from the YouTube vids I've watched…….

The combat in VtM:Bloodlines ranges from kinda crummy to mediocre. Everything else is top notch.

I wouldn't say anything is top notch in VtM. Its an RPG made in the source engine. Its just goof, almost user made mod material.

I thought all of us disliked the Witcher 2 combat? I've been hearing people say the Witcher 1 combat was bad, and that Witcher 2 didn't improve by a lot. Are you guys using a combat mod? Are we desperate?

I'm voting for Kingdoms of Amalur, because it was fast and sexy.

Maybe because the combat in the Witcher is too complicated for bad players? - Taylor Swift: Queen of Pop.

For pure RPGs, I love Fallout. That was the very best turn based RPG system that I've played. You have everything tied to action points so you have to know how much you should move before you can't afford to attack or how many shots you should fire before you need reload. The targeted shot system was awesome too, it costs more AP and you do need strong skill points to get those shots off at a high percent, but shooting someone in eyes on a critical hit that makes them go blind is always satisfying. I also like what they did in Divinity: Original Sin, there's a very good strategic turn based combat system in that too.

When it comes to action RPGs, I do like what they did with the new Fallout games where it looks like a FPS, but everything you do is based on stats and what you roll. Every gunshot isn't going to hit, this isn't Halo. V.A.T.S. is a great way to bring back the strategy of the classic games, to take out the legs of a fast enemy or shoot the gun out of a super mutant's hands.

But I play Halo and I miss quite often.

Anyway I agree with classic Fallout and modern Fallout being very well done RPG combat systems. I love using VATS to decide on which body part would be the best choice at the current moment. Do I take a risk and aim for the head, or should I aim at their arm to screw up their aim? Good times.
I'm not a real gamer, I actually enjoy playing games

Mount and Blade by far
Then maybe Divinity: Original Sin
Then maybe Dark Souls, but that's far behind the other two.
