Picked it up for cheap a while ago but never got around to playing it; had fun the little time I played it way back when a friend had it on the 360. Is the multiplayer still active/non-hacker-filled? And is the singleplayer worthwhile at all?

I think the single player is at least worth a play through. Multiplayer is probably beyond being broken at this point. Its been a while since I've played it, but there were numerous hackers in just about every other game I joined. Mind you this is on the 360, but I wouldn't imagine it being much different on the PC.

Single player was great imo. One of the last fantastic WW2 FPS campaigns I played. Go through on veteran and hate the grenade spam as much as I did. Trust me, when you beat the campaign the pride is worth it. Damn grenades!

Yeah I think the single player is really good. Very good story line with a relatively large amount of character development for a FPS. Multiplayer is probably dead at this point though.

With WaW I think you are more likely to find cheaters on Xbox since there is no way of quelling them. At least with PC servers you have the chance that an admin will be on to ban the them.

I haven't played online for a while but I would imagine there are still several servers up. Try Dome with 64 players for some insane chaos.
I am not economically viable.

A lot of the servers for WaW are tactical, crouch only.

Yeah, there's tons of those, there's only a few good normal TDM servers left. But it's one of my favorite games ever, so as long as there's even one server running, I'll be there.
