Being in England, we are required by law to let any would be burglars in, offer them a cup of tea and biscuits, help them carry the items out to their vehicle, and then make them a packed lunch with a flask of tea for the journey.

Seriously, someone standing their ground in this country can be sued by the burglars, it's absolutely ridiculous. But screw that, someone tries to break in to steal my stuff, I'll use everything I have to stop them. I hate people who try to take stuff off of people who make an honest living.

They can do that here too.

If he had a sword/cleaver/large knife or something I would let him take it, anything else and he would die, fast.

It's not about what the burglar wants, trying to break into my home is enough by himself.
I'd break majority of his bones, then call the police and watch him trying to run.

It's the same here which is why so many people shoot to kill burglars rather than mame them. Dead man can't sue.

Not something i'm worried about. I have 3 very very large dogs, and while all of them are nice, 2 are incredibly protective. Sweet as can be if you belong in the house, but if you show any fear and they sense you don't belong there, they'd probably rip your limbs off.

I have insurance. Not gonna take a knife wound for my videogames. Do not take my flash drives though!

I'd fight them until I was dead or they were gone. I'm fine with dying and I'm not letting someone get away with a crime against me.

I think the rule here is you can stand your ground, but you cannot shoot them in the back, and they must be within your premises, (i don't know whether outside property counts) however... I've had an officer explain to me that you might as well do just that and drag em back inside after he's dead.

If some one breaks in to my home. I'm not really thinking they are there to steal my video games. Could be there to kill me. I would be in "Fight for my Life mode". We have plenty of crazy junkies in this town.

Have a 9mm and a 22 pistol. Some one is going down if they don't leave.

Granted if I could I'd try to get out of the house first and call the police. I'd go with that.
