I don't think anyone found the sales exciting. Top sellers didn't seem to change much.

Steam uses akamai which is pretty good at dealing with request attacks. What exactly happened? By the way, sales on games I wouldn't have bought full price just don't sway me as much as they should. I haven't found anything I want that I didn't already try to get on a 3rd party site for 15-30% off when it first released.
