So I haven't had a gaming PC/Laptop in years and I'm looking to invest again. But I'm wondering if laptops are even worth it for gaming? Im aiming more towards laptop due to the fact that I don't have room for a PC setup at the moment. Also, whats a reasonable amount I should spend on a gaming laptop if I do? My budget is around 500-600.

Double your budget if you want a gaming laptop.

Do you need the portability of a laptop? If yes then get one. If no, then build a desktop yourself.

You'll definitely get more power from a PC and it'll survive longer than a laptop would before upgrades are needed. With a laptop, you'd have to buy a new laptop if it's age starts showing.

And yeah. You're not even getting a decent laptop for that money. At least double that budget for a decent one.

Honestly your best bet is something like the switch for on the go gaming and a dedicated desktop for PC gaming.

With that budget your better off going the desktop route and upgrading as you go.

Do you have a monitor and peripherals?

It can get to the point where your actual budget is 300-400 for the tower and it's going to be weak as s***.

Regardless it's going to be s*** even if you go for a new laptop with 500-600 budget. You can probably get a somewhat decent refurbished laptop at that price range though.

Laptops are only good if you need the portability.

You can go cheap on monitor and peripherals at first. Just get a $10 thrift store monitor (or use a TV) and a Logitech keyboard and mouse set. Upgrade as finances allow.
