I don't plan to go higher res anytime soon. I have an i54670k and a gtx760 but I cant run games like nier or witcher 3 at 60fps and struggle to run games better than my Xbox one for that matter

My cousin is going to sell me his 970 for 100 quid which is half the price of the market value. Is it worth upgrading to a 970 or should I wait a year or so for other cards. What's the jump like.

Edit sorry I meant I can't run games like nier or witcher properly.

The 970 is ~80-100% faster than your 760. If its worth it,you have to decide for yourself.

I use a 970 with an i5 2500k and its awesome for 1080p gaming. My settings for witcher 3 are mostly max settings except of course hair works is off. buttery smooth 60fps. fyi hair works kills framerates for alot of rigs.

double checking my settings...

i have sharpening and vignetting off simply b/c i dont like the way it looks. these do almost nothing to performance fyi

all other settings are high with textures at ultra...i did that b/c I looked at this page
https://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt-graphics-performance-and-tweaking-guide

and high and ultra were hard to tell a difference in alot of it so I just left it at high.

ambient occlusion is maxed out to.

Depends on the price if it's 200+

Go 1060 If you can find one cheap enough

Also if you decide to wait you could always lower res to 900p/720p to get more frames if needed

It's a steady card, and will produce around 45-60 on the Wtcher 3 with hairworks turned down. For £100 that's a steal, and will go for a while.
