I can do all that with a controller. :D

The menus, I agree, mouse is way better.

How can you have 9 seperate buttons for signs and consumables?
I never use the wheel at all, I find it really annoying mid combat.

Analogs for movement and camera, two attack buttons, parry, dodge, roll, dive, surface, 2x sword pull out, 5 signs, 4 consumables/items, item use button and all those menu shortcuts.

Just doesn't work with a controller.

DS4windows shift mod. I can hold L1 (since I dont need the radial wheel) and then every button on the controller can be mapped to something else.

face buttons insta-cast signs

D-pad uses quick slot items

touchpad swipes move between quick slot columns.

L2 and L3, and R1,2,3 use bombs, crossbow, etc.

It wasn't released yet back in 2015.
And I don't game on controllers with s*** layouts.
Where's the second analog? D-pad buttons connected? Noty.

Hmm, that does sound nice.
I bound my touchpad as two extra buttons in DS4 windows. Left/right side press.

Are you serious?
I was the one who explained my layout and then he just said no.
Why would I explain myself again?
Did it now when the actual arguments were presented.

I played with kb+m just fine, just use whichever you find more comfortable.

Yeah its awesome. Even without using shift mod, you can do neat stuff like have the touchpad open your map, quest log, inventory, crafting, etc instantly. Map left swipe to M, then bam, swipe left for the map anytime.

also it can map the 4 directional swipes and 2 different click zones. (the main pad and the very top are different zones.)

Play whatever you find more comfortable. I prefer controller when I play it because I play it for long periods of time usually.

To me, KB+M wins. Witcher 3 plays amazingly well with the keyboard and aiming with the mouse is great, even if this is not a FPS.

Then again, I can only play King of Fighters with the keyboard, so my opinion is not the most popular one.

shortcuts and superior camera control makes W3 with m/kb much better both in and out of combat.

makes me think that the people who think the combat is horrendous/sluggish and can't do stuff like switch signs on the fly, can't target specific enemies without using lock on and can't properly control the camera for fast enemies or in cramped spaces, are mostly (console)controller users.
Not being able to land shoryuken consistently on one method of input as opposed to another is a matter of preference - zedzilla

I find its actually more often that they didnt adjust the mouse sensitivity and are trying to use the ultra spastic defaults that make the camera do 16 360° spins when you move the mouse half a centimeter.
