The problem I was having with the 780Ti was the lack of Vram

Yeah, that's probably a huge factor in being able to render large resolutions easily... the 780 only had 3GB, the 1080 has 8GB, and the Ti has 11GB... so the Ti has almost 4x as much VRAM.

I had a 2600k + 780 sli combo + 16gb ddr3-1600. Upgraded the 780s to 1080ti.
Then eventually the 2600k to 7700k + 16gb ddr4-3200.

780s to 1080ti = worth it
2600k to 7700k = not really (added fps to some games. But with the 1080ti, those added frames were simply cherries on top)

So to answer your question, upgrade to 1080 or 1080ti. But your processor will hold up.

Any monitor recommendations for around 350? I'm gonna be getting it before a new card, so something over 1080p probably wouldn't be worth it at the moment

I'd still go 1440P at this point, unless you mean like 6-8 months or more until you upgrade the card. Even then Id still probably go 1440p, and let the lowered FPS drive me to upgrade the card sooner. :p

Are there any decent ones around 350-400?

No need to upgrade. GTX780 is still plenty for 1080p very high settings at 60 FPS.

Exactly. No need at all. Upgrade just when you feel you cannot play 1 specific game at the settings you would like.
Bu!
