Trying to figure out if the technology is worth investing into at the moment. Otherwise, I'll just use HDR on my PS4.

It's an interesting question since games don't specifically say what color range to render in. It's more like, render this triangle in these 9 coordinates with a light source at these 3 coordinates with this raster on the face.
DirectX figures out the rest, including dithering of colours

I know that Resident Evil 7, Mass Effect Andromeda, and Shadow Warrior 2 support HDR. Not sure what else is out there

There really aren't any games out right now that PROPERLY support HDR. It's a mess at this point and is (allegedly) going to be improved in the Windows Fall Update. We'll see.

No its not worth investing in unless you actually plan on getting a TV with HDR thats a different story....for one all the HDR monitors out right now have sub par execution of it.....for the simple reason of needing more FULL ARRAY LOCAL DIMMING ZONES so that you can actually dim a very small part of the image while blasting another part with brightness.

Not enough for HDR to matter right now. I would just pay attention to the games coming to PC gaming in the coming year, more specifically Q1 and Q2 of 2018, and see what titles will support HDR.

He's intentionally ignoring because he knows HDR isn't worth investing into. He's probably embarrassed that PS4 has more games that support than his "master race HDR machine" does.
