So my grandparents are giving me an EB Games voucher for $100 which I thought was great! Since I don't really have the cash to throw away on Steam stuff anymore with things being tight.
I saw that Sonic Mania was $17.99 on Steam and I was like "Wow, that'll work out great, I'll just get a Steam voucher for $20 and I'll have a couple dollars left over!" Wait a minute, it inexplicably says USD on there...but why would it do that? My profile on the website says I'm in Australia, everything else does, I actually am in Australia, why would they make me have to add an extra step to calculate how much I'm actually paying?

Open steam, click on your user name in the upper right, click on account details, click on "Update store country", then hope your ISP correctly labels you as in the correct country.

I'm a little confused here, the store should always show you what it costs you to buy stuff in your local currency; however, you can have more than one type of currency in your Steam wallet since some are worth more than others.

I'm guessing when you added that Steam wallet card that it was a card worth $100 USD rather than your local currency?

Nope, we are still paying in USD in Australia for whatever reason.

I haven't added it yet and I have never added anything but AUD since that is the only currency I own.

Yeah, Steam doesn't do AUD. Which kinda sucks cause if you use paypal you get the currency conversion fee (I think it's 4%) but if it were AUD prices would likely still be higher at the $90-ish range.
