I bring my real gaming PC to college with me and I don't like lugging it home for when I come home some weekends. So I started to assemble what I hope will be a fairly competent low end machine (with some scrap parts) to merely run the games I play.

SPECS
i5 3330
GTX 660 2gb
8gb DDR3

I mainly play just play OW, BF1, and PUBG. The first two are optimized enough that I'm confident it will work out, but the real challenge is pubg. This rig just barely scrapes by the stated minimum requirements with the 660 and I'm going to find out if It'll run sooner than later, but I wanna know what you think.

You think if I bump it down to 720p on low I could scrape together a solid 45-60 fps with this thing?

You might wanna shoot for 30 fps. 660 is less than half the performance of a 1060 to give an idea.

I'm fairly certain PUBG should run 45-60 fps at 720p.

That'd be nice, the rig used to have a radeon 370 4gb, and it ran right around 60-70 on low at 900p. The game's gotten a bit more optimized since then, so hopefully with half the vram it could squeeze near 60 at 720.

I had a rig fairly similar to yours I built for the hell of it less then a year ago with a I5 2400 and GTX 660. It was running any newer game I tossed at it around 50-60FPS at medium settings 1080p. Unless the game was badly optimized like Just Cause 3 or Ark.

I haven't played any of those games you mentioned but they should run fine on your rig. As long as they are decently optimized.

If you picked up a used 970 on craiglist if you find a good deal that would be a 1080p slayer.
