It's on sale on Steam right now and just wondering how the PC version is compared to the Xbox One. I've seen some stuff about crashes and bad framerates, but how does it run now a days?

It's way better than that VCR version. Fairly optimized and runs well on the config I have in my sig....all the issues at launch have been fixed a while back. I can run at average 44-50fps in 4k and stays way above 30fps even at extra heavy zombie scenes...dunno how they did that. Plus has xbox360/1 controller support...which is a huge plus for me.

I think I got it Xmas 2015 or mid 2016. Solely played it in co-op with my brother down the hall, never had any crashes and don't recall any framerate issues (GTX780/4790k, 1080p prolly mostly max) but after about a quarter of the way through we started having issues with it lagging behind for the non-host when we were in the same vehicle and the hosts vehicle would often have the handbrake lock itself on. Also had some other issues with vehicles but I can't remember exactly.

Game had way too many zombies.

How great the power of yuri was that it could even neutralise poison!

I imagine its CPU bound, due to all the zombies.

I'm assuming not. But it's unlockable fairly easy evidently.

On a side note, are all the PC ports pretty solid? Planning to snag 1/2/Off the Record/3 all together before the sale ends. Had some amazon credit so I got a card off amazon but unfortunately it's physical so I have to wait for it to arrive =/ Was hoping for email delivery.

For me, 2 and OTR were pretty much flawless. At the time 2 (or maybe both, I can't remember) was/were running on GFWL and it would freeze if you tried to start co-op in a specific way but they've removed GFWL for the steam version. Though I guess the physical versions will still be GFWL.

And I think DR3 is 60 fps by default now. I don't remember having to fix it up... but that doesn't mean much TBH

Dead Rising 3 ran great when I played through it, which was a while ago. I don't think it crashed a single time and I never noticed any dropped frames.

As long as you don't have a junk PC, the port is almost flawless. DR3 is my favorite in the series, but unfortunately it causes motion sickness - which I rarely get and definitely didn't get from other DR games. They screwed up something, could be the low FoV.

I just finished the first Dead Rising and it works beautifully. Very smooth, very fast.
