When you have a Monitor thats 20 Inches
And a monitor thats 25 Inches

What is the actual difference in size.

Is it going to be like 2 inches in height and 3 inches in width bigger.
Or 5 inches in Height and 5 Inches in Width bigger?

thanks I appreciate the link.

I am still confused though because none of those actually list monitor display sizes.
just dimensions

Oh, I am guessing the Diagonal is the display size?
Still confused though.

Monitor/TV sizes are always based on the diagonal size, rather than Height/Width.

A 25" display would be 5" longer on the diagonal than a 20" one. This measurement is standard, and used regardless of screen aspect ratio; So a 20" 4:3 (Square) display would appear 'taller and narrower' than a 20" 16:9 (Widescreen) display, while still being listed as the same 'size in inches'.

Why not just look at the specs, it should tell you the dimensions of the monitor.

That's what my chart tells you

the chart is in centimetres.

either way , if its based on diagnoals... 5 diagonal inches automatically means it cant be 5 inches in height and width.
So it measn its probably a combination of the two equaling 5 inches..

so you have answered the question anyways.

Thank you, much appreciated.

I converted the Centimeters to inches and got this.

20 Inches16 x 9
25 Inches 21 x 12
30 Inches 25 x 14

There is a big difference between 20 and 25 yet the differnce between 25 and 30 seems smaller.

So it seems like after 25 inches.. the increases become less and less noticeable.

So a 20 inch to 25 inch is a huge upgrade.. but I suspect that the difference between 40 and 45 is alot less noticeable.

You can figure all of this out yourself and compare heights, widths, and areas by using some simple geometry.
