So who was it saying it was a conspiracy again? It's an AV company founded by an ex KGB elite agent with ties to Kremlin and Putin. Why was this ever not considered by you people?

I used Kaspersky once. It actually went viral and corrupted my system drive.

Anything that has 3p fps or better is fine with me -mucloud

This is like saying why do we have air bags in our cars if most of us never get in a crash

Free anti virus takes little system memory and it sitting there doing nothing is better than having none at all, you can scan once every 8 months and still be 10x better off than no AV

Look at how the Russian government operates with regards to Russian corporations and the judicial system. Even if there is no collusion between Kaspersky Labs and the Russian government in any sort of official-yet-behind-the-scenes capacity, there's every logical basis to assume that Kaspersky is compromised somehow.
