This is like saying why do we have air bags in our cars if most of us never get in a crash

Windows has a built in Virus scanner these days.

Which even MS has admitted to it being crap

Either you stop AV at the perimeter, which AV is far from the best tool for doing, or it gets into your system and you can't trust what it tells you anymore. "since you do not have a scanner, you'll never know." You'll never know anyway. Only crappy malware will get caught. Any decent rootkit covers its tracks.

U.S government and intelligence community banned Kasperky months ago. If our IC says it's spyware and outright bans it you better f***ing believe its spyware. Also let's not forget that Putin responded to Kasperky bans with expelling over 700 American diplomats from Russia (not the SOLE reason for doing this but it is a specific reason from Putin himself)

For most of us, the free versions of Avira and Malwarebytes and ad-blockers are enough to protect us from harm (assuming you have typical internet behavior and you're not using torrents and other shady s***). But for the government and large corporations, they need a lot more than free AV software to protect themselves. Especially after Russia declared cyber WW3

1 - They didn't ban it months ago, they took it off an approved contracts list but it was still allowed on government systems and government organizations could still purchase it through various channels.
2 - I think you're making a huge leap of logic by tying that action to the DoS staffing reduction, which was obviously and simply more directly related to the unilateral sanctions the US Congress imposed (which had nothing to do with Kaspersky).

Are you literally trying to argue against facts? Why?

Yes, it is BANNED by the DoJ and DIA. Government agencies CANNOT use it

I'm making a leap in logic by quoting Putin and other Kremlin officials? The combination of Russian diplomat expulsions, strengthening existing sanctions, and the ban of Kaspersky culminated in the expulsion of American diplomats, which is just the first of retaliatory actions promised by Russia. The others being Russia implementing their own bans on American software and products. Which of course is all hot air from Putin because they need that stuff a lot more than we need them to buy it

Do you just like to argue or something? Or are you a Russian shill? Didn't think GameFAQs was important enough to have any lol
