Are the problems for Nier as bad as they act on steam?

Well, your GPU in particular is a bit below minimum spec

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a 1050ti considerably more powerful than a 770? Also, looking at the visuals for this game it's absolutely ludicrous it's having performance issues, I really see nothing noteworthy/extraordinary that should require so much GPU horsepower.

I don't know for a fact one way or the other...I just looked them both up on:

...and it put the 1050ti at a slightly lower tier than the 770. So aside from VRAM and architecture differences, I assumed it was weaker.

I had a second PC that had a 1050 and with every thing on low it wasn't running the greatest. I didn't try the fan made patch to see if that improved any thing but it was using 100% of the GPU. A 1060 would probably run it fairly decent. though since you can refund it might be worth giving it a try since performance issues a side it is a really good game.

This is how it ran on my 1050

For comparison, a GTX 960 cannot run the game at 60 fps with everything at low and 1680x1050. Pre-fanpatch, that is. Afterwards it was fine, and could even bump up a few settings.

Yes. It is that bad. I mean, the game might run fine for you. It ran fine for me without the FAR patch, but the thing is, you shouldn't need a fan-made patch to fix the game. It's Square-Enix's job to fix their s***, and instead of doing that, they abandoned it, like they do all their games on PC.

Just to be straight here also, the game isn't fixed with the FAR patch either. It's still a technical mess and the creator of the FAR patch even commented on how inept the developers seemed to be. It's easily one of the worst ports in the past several years, and not something that should be supported. Huge disappointment.

One of the best game of the year and everyone is stubborn about not playing it just because Squenix sucks.

As if that's not a good readon to buy it?
Honestly, I'm not keen on buying the steam version and downloading a fan patch because that suggests it's fine to fart out a crappy port job onto PC.

Bad enough when developers knowingly put bad products out to patch later. It's worse if we send the message it's okay to *never* fix it because the fans will do it for you. For free.

This was also a title that was delayed so it could implement the lastest version of Denuvo, but Square-Enix couldn't be bothered to clean up the port at all. Yeah f*** Square-Enix, and f*** anyone who supports this kind of bulls***.
