Just to be straight here also, the game isn't fixed with the FAR patch either. It's still a technical mess and the creator of the FAR patch even commented on how inept the developers seemed to be. It's easily one of the worst ports in the past several years, and not something that should be supported. Huge disappointment.

I'm not keen on buying the steam version and downloading a fan patch because that suggests it's fine to fart out a crappy port job onto PC.

The fact that it has been out for a long time and not a single patch pretty much tells you that they're never going to fix anything.

This site says they're working on it, but only because people have been complaining about it. I'm sure it's not a priority for them.

I had some pretty atrocious issues with it myself, but it's a good game when it works.

"Be very careful what you wish for. If you get a longer geometry draw distance, it will come at the expense of shadow draw distance and then you'll be left with something that looks absurd like NieR:Automata.

The game's already straddling that line if you look at the video closely."

Just taxing, nothing being a bad port.

i only had the game crash on me once in 50 hours of play.

it is easily GOTY 2k17.

i ran it on max settings on a gtx 1070 and never noticed any slowdown.

Its not optimized well. You pretty much need a high end GPU to brute force it into running half way decent. Even my 980 TI cant get a solid 60FPS with out drops into the mid 40s. The fan made patch may help or it may not I have heard mixed results.

It is a great game though and if its running like crap you can always refund it.

I generally take Steam reviews with a pinch of salt, but if something has a lot of bad reviews, I'd do some further research elsewhere. In this case, the game is somewhat notorious for spotty/low performance.
