Either go Ryzen or wait for Coffee Lake, which is only two weeks away

This.
Coffee Lake i3 has 4 cores and no HT.

Intel is the worst value. Hyperthreading only gives you about 33% of a boost maximum. Go with Ryzen and get real cores.

Umm coffee lake is real 6 cores. But I know what you mean. More cores > hyperthredding.

Yeah, I was directing my comment towards the people pretending hyperthreaded logical cores are the same as real cores.

Hyperthredding is like giving a car nitros, more cores is like doing an engine swap of a car. Figure I do an analogy.

That is up to you OP

Remember it is considering a standard among of Intel peasants gamers delivering 300 euro for a new (good quality)motherboard by merely CPU upgrade just cause single feature. Exclude peripherals easily 200 euro+ for a good usb. Each year ofcourse.

WHAT?!?!
Do the math!

So I looked up the Coffee Lake CPUs, and it seems like the i3-8100 is what I should get if I want 4 cores and great single-threaded performance at a relatively low price?
